Deb Smith is owner of Tea Promenade, a family-owned business that specializes in hand-crafted flavors of tea. This organic tea business is led by Deb and her daughter, Courtney “Mui” Barnes. Tea Promenade features Southern Sweet Tea and an assortment of sugarless organic brewed teas, a “southern indulgence.”

Although the business was established in October 2016, Deb and Mui are no strangers to the comfort and tradition of tea. Deb has made it a family tradition to serve her organic tea made of 100% fresh ingredients and herbal blends to her family over the years. After receiving rave reviews from friends and family about the taste and quality of the tea, Deb and Mui began their journey to launch Tea Promenade as a business venture.

Several clients of Tea Promenade have said that not only does the tea have a sensational flavor, but also that some of the blends have a calming and stress-reducing effect. Many clients have reported craving the tea leading them to frequent bulk orders. Recent clients of Tea Promenade include; Facebook, Baywest Construction, Genentech, and the University of San Francisco.

In the near future, Deb and Mui plan to supply bars with Tea Promenade kegs to be used in cocktails. They also intend to participate in various events and tradeshows to showcase their tea blends. Deb envisions growing and developing the business to reach larger markets namely luxury hotel and resorts, such as The Claremont and the Ritz Carlton.

Though the entrepreneurship journey has its challenges, Deb and Mui are clear that their motivation is  their customers and knowing that people from all walks of life love their blends. Deb and Mui are always brainstorming ways to “wow” their customers and strive for excellence by providing high-quality tea blends. Deb says, regularly; “you have to pass up good for great.”
