James Mabrey, Your All Day Everyday Janitorial Services

James Mabrey is a successful business owner of Your All Day Everyday Janitorial Services which was established in 2009. Within 8 years, he has grown this family-owned business to what is projected to be over $1M in revenue this year. He started the business with only a Ford Explorer and minimal equipment to now having a full inventory of equipment valued over $40,000.

James has numerous contracts with the City and County of San Francisco and notable large construction companies such as Nibbi Brothers, Skanska, Herrero Boldt, and Suffolk. His business provides janitorial service both day and night and will soon be certified as a green business to support recycling efforts. The business specializes in providing 24/7 janitorial service and supports construction and emergency cleanup.

In 1999, after consecutive stints of unemployment, James was encouraged by a friend to visit the Bayview Renaissance office for support in starting his own business. Instead of being the “last one hired and the first one fired,” James decided to take matters into his own hands and create work for himself and eventually others in the community by establishing his business.

With the support of Renaissance and his sheer determination and resiliency, he put all his time and energy into developing the business. “I lost many friends along the way and some ended up in prison, but I chose a different path for myself” says James. He is passionate about providing a stepping stone for others to give back to the community.

James is a second-generation resident of San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood. His family are long-standing members of the community. In fact, they have a street named after them in the Bayview (called Mabrey Street). James is one of nine children. The majority of his staff are residents of Bayview-Hunters Point. James takes great pride and honor in having both of his sons work in the business, his older brother, and many fellow community residents. He is grateful to be in a position to employ and empower others.
